What is IQ?IQ or Intelligence Quotient is a measurement of human intelligence and is considered by many to be a reliable indicator of a person’s educational and professional capabilities. The term ‘IQ’ was first coined by the psychologist William Stern in 1912 and at the time represented the ratio of mental age to chronological age. For example, if a person had a mental age of 12 but was actually only 10, they would be given an IQ of 120. This calculation has changed and developed greatly over the years.
